If one remembers, Sameera had been cast earlier in Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding to play Vasundhara Das character. But unfortunately she could not make it as she had already begun shooting for Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. Sameera is excited about her role and is happy that someone is taking up a cause like AIDS to make a film.

Bill and Melinda Gates foundation in India has also short listed three more Bollywood directors like Farhan Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj and Santosh Sivan to make short films on AIDS. These films will be screened before the start of feature films across theatres in India.
