Model-turned-actor Zulfi Sayed has got a job in a Lingerie boutique…but in his upcoming movie Mr. Hot Mr. Kool! This is for the first time Zulfi

Sayed is coming up in a comedy film, this one being directed by Partho Ghosh. Zulfi, who won accolades for his performance in the movie Taj

Mahal - An Eternal Love Story, had risen to fame when he had won the Gladrags Manhunt in 1997. He was then seen in music videos, ramp

shows and television ads. IndiaFM is in conversation with this soft spoken man of few words—a true blue Mr Kool.

Tell me something about the film Mr. Hot Mr. Cool.
Mr. Hot Mr. Kool is a situational romantic comedy starring myself, Yash Pandit and two new young debutants Samiksha and Priya Valecha. Mr.

Hot Mr. Kool is a story on two friends whose life is like a railway engine without driver or fuel. No job no girl. But the story changes as they land up in

London and also find there jobs in a Lingerie store. They also acquire a brand new car. None of them knew driving and this becomes the take off

point. And the story unfolds with full comedy and confusions of love.

What made you sign this film?
I found the story very interesting so I signed it. It was first time that I was offered comedy and I could not refuse the challenge. It was a great

experience working with Yash, Priya and Samiksha and of course Parthoji. We had a great time.

You are one of the top models in the country, what brought you to films?
It all started in year 2002. After winning Gladrags in 1997, modeling happened. Then I did music videos and ads. Once you are through this rigmarole

then the next natural step is films, so I took it up when I got the offer. In any case acting was my passion since childhood. Everything else happened

by default.

So you used the trend of modeling to acting as an example to achieve your dream objective?
No, I don't agree with you. There is no hard and fast rule that models take to acting and use this career of modeling only as a take off point. There are

many who are sticking to modeling and many actors were never models before. It is purely an individual choice.

This is your first film as a comedy actor, how was your experience? Did you find the role to be very challenging?
As an actor, it has been a very good experience working through a comic relief. I really enjoyed it and I think comedy roles are more difficult to

execute than serious or normal characters. My film Chupke Se was also comedy film, so I did not need to prepare for comic delivery. I knew

my time but with each film you do refine your performance and perfect your art of delivery. So I also learnt.

It's in the past now, when the characters in Zameer and Deewaar

were written.

How was you experience working with Partho Ghosh?
Director Partho Ghosh is very nice and understanding person. He is a very good director and also a good human being. While we were shooting,

the atmosphere he created on sets was really homely. I think that's the reason we have completed the film nicely.

Is there anything unusual about this film?
The climax of this film has a USP. It was shot in the capsule of the Millennium Wheel in London. Never has any film been shot from inside the

capsule of this wheel.

What kind of roles would you like to do?
I would like to play all types of roles whether it is comedy, action, or romantic, anything as long as it is not repetitive. I don't believe in any particular

character. Then where is the time to think and ponder on such issues? If you like the character and story is good, set is comfortable, and you take

the offer. Nobody thinks so deeply.

Is there any role in Hindi Cinema, which you would like to play?
As I said earlier, I don't think that today we have a choice of many characters. It's in the past now, when the characters in Zameer and

Deewaar were written. Life today is like fast food where you take quickly and move ahead in line. I can't afford to wait.
