The Bhatts are back. Theirs is a production banner where the studio arc lights never go off. This time they come up with an action thriller. Killer is about a cab ride between an underworld killer and a cabbie who is least expecting what all is going to come his way.
The 30 second teaser of the film kick starts with Irrfan Khan, the killer, calling in for a taxi and the cabbie is Emraan Hashmi. The killer Irrfan Khan is not just any street savvy guy. Loaded with guns and gadgets and dressed in suit and tie, Irrfan plays a polished slick assassin.

Says the killer to the cabbie that this night they two have to be together until his work is done. And even if the cabbie isn't interested, he has no option. Thrills and action follows. Nisha Kothari, Emraan's love interest in the film plays the role of a bar-dancer.
This Bhatt production seems to be inspired by the Tom Cruise-Jamie Foxx starrer Hollywood film Collateral. The diverse characterizations of the lead players however, remind you more of the recent Nana Patekar - John Abraham starrer Taxi No 9211. What's interesting is that the characters of Irrfan Khan and Emraan Hashmi are much against their usual screen images. While Irrfan has never looked more classy, jazzy lover-boy Emraan Hashmi plays an unpretentious taxi driver.
Bhatts are known to introduce new talents in almost every film. But this one has known names. So who's the new entry? Well this time it's the director, and not one but two of them. Raksha Mistry and Hasnain S Hyderabadwala make their debut as directors with Killer.
