Ahuja, Shilpa Shetty, Kangana Ranaut, Irfan Khan, director Basu and producer Ronnie Screwwala of UTV. Other cast members including Sharman

Joshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Kay Kay Menon were conspicuous by their absence.

With twinkling lights draped around trees and comforting sight of tired sea waves embracing a calm shore, the spirited performance by Band Metro

They also belted out In Dino, Alvida and Kar Salaam was the perfect premise for the music launch of Metro that sounds incredulously interesting

with its theme of interloping relationships in a fast paced Mumbai. Sharman Joshi's character succinctly says at the end of a promo, "Yeh Shahar

Raas Nahin Aaya.” Another interesting line from one of the promo goes, "Rishte To Nahin Bas Yahan Tanhaiyan Mili. ”

"Metro can change the face of Indian Cinema” - Shilpa Shetty

has definitely enhanced Metro's chances overseas. But if a film is not good then be it Shilpa Shetty or Amitabh Bachchan, the film won't

work,” director Basu said.

Normally reticent Shiney Ahuja seemed to be in a party mood too. "This is my second time with Anurag. It was great time working with him. I had a

completely different role in Gangster,” he said. In jest he added, "I am also proud of Shilpa for what she has achieved.” Wonder if shedding

copious tears on international TV warrants such pride-n-fame. Never mind…

Angelic Kangana Ranaut looked ravishing in a black outfit. It also happened to be her birthday. As always she preferred to speak minimal by saying

the usual stuff, "It's a special day for me. Pritam is very lucky for me. It was a pleasure working with UTV. It was a pleasure working with Anurag.”

Gangster pair of Shiney and Kangana have been repeated but not Emran Hashmi. Why? "Emran didn't have dates. I wanted to cast him in the

role played by Sharman,” Basu clarified.

Irrfan Khan who is reveling in the glorious reviews for his performance in Namesake was low key at the event. "I wish I become a necessity for

Anurag Basu. I was skeptical about the role but the day I went on the set, I had a great time,” he said.

Gangster's music had many 'inspirations'. Can't say anything yet about Metro. But from first hearing, one can safely say it is innovative,

quality content with thoughtful lyrics by Sayeed Qadri, Sandeep Shrivastava and Amitabh Verma. It's time to check out one such verse as we say
